Hello, paper crafting friends! I’m getting a headstart on my Christmas cards with three awesome new Christmas die cut sets available from Spellbinders. These sets are all part of the Holiday Medley collection. Holiday Medley is a magical grouping to celebrate one of the most festive time of the year through paper crafting. Becca Feeken designed an array of dies that can mix within existing sets to offer more creative options, and some that can be added in wonderful larger size card formats or projects.
Holiday Medley Collection
There are nine sets in the Holiday Medley collection, and I used three different ones when creating the Christmas cards featured in this blog post.
- Mosaic Bracket Card Builder Etched Dies: The Happy Holidays sentiment is two separate scripted thin metal dies with each its own outline die. Nest the Bracket Split Rim A or B with the Mosaic Pattern to create a beautiful design. Or use separately to expand your decorative edge or inlay motif.
- All is Calm Word Frame Etched Dies: This set includes five thin metal dies. There are two sentiment dies with three layering square shapes to create wonderful square elements.
- Jingle Word Frame Etched Dies: A beautiful set of four thin metal dies working together create delicate layered focal elements on a card.
All is Calm
For this A2 sized card, I covered the top of the card with a plaid pattern paper and added a gold cardstock strip to the bottom of the plaid. The gold strip worked to bring out the gold in the plaid pattern. For the focal piece, I used the scalloped frame die to cut a piece of red and white polka dot paper. Next, I layered the etched, gold square onto a simple white square. I cut the etched square in red and pink and layered the leftover pieces into the gold etched piece as shown. To complete the card, I cut four of the “All is Calm” sentiments and layered them to create dimension and help the sentiment pop.
Happy Holidays
This next card features the Mosaic Bracket Card Builder Etched Dies. I used a white A2 card as my base, and layered the red mosaic onto the card. Previously, I had cut extra mosaics because I wasn’t sure which color I wanted to use, and I was thinking I would layer two onto the front of the card. However, I decided to use the leftover pieces to add more color to the mosaic. I layered green and pink pieces into the mosaic to give my card more color. I cut a piece of striped paper using the bracket split die included in the set. Finally, I cut the “Happy Holidays” sentiment and background piece, using foam tape to adhere them to the card.
Jingle All the Way
This card is the simplest of all the cards I create using the Holiday Medley collection. For this vertical A2 card, I added a piece of cardstock to the bottom of the card and a piece of red and white polka dot ribbon. I inked the top of the card using Distress Ink, and then layered pink and green circle as shown. For the final touch, I cut four “Jingle All the Way” sentiments and layered them together before adding them to the card.

Until next time,
