Hi there, it’s Michelle, aka the Bookish Designer, and I am super excited to be Blog Hopping with the ladies from Lori Whitlock’s Creative Team. This is the last stop on the blog hop today, so be sure to check out all the team projects if you haven’t already. If you think you may have missed one, you can head back to the beginning at Lori’s blog.
For this month’s blog hop, I made the 4X4 Accordion Pocket Mini Album (SVG, Silhouette). For the cover, I used the Best Dad Ever cut file (SVG, Silhouette). My husband is the type who is very hard to shop for, so I thought this little mini-album would be a perfect gift for Father’s Day. For my album pages and pockets, I used Lori’s All Boy collection from Echo Park Paper.
I made the album pages out of Cricut kraft paper to give them a little extra sturdiness. Lori has a tutorial video that you can watch if you aren’t sure how to put the pages together. To make this mini-album, I put the album pages together first, and then added the pocket covers as well as the front and back cover. Before covering the back cover, I used Tacky Tape to attach a piece of polka-dot ribbon that I could tied to hold the album closed.
The file has covers for the 4 pocket pages plus little tabs for the pages that go into the pocket pages. I added a picture of my husband with each of the kids and myself into the pocket pages, and my plan is to have everyone write him a little message on the other side of the pocket card. I used the 3×4 journal/element cards and stickers from the All Boy collection to decorate the pockets.
On the other side of the accordion album, I cut 4×4 squares of paper from the collection to cover the kraft paper I used to make the album. I then adhered pictures on the several of the squares. For the remaining squares, I used the 4×4 element cards to break up the photos. I though about decorating the pages with additional stickers. However, the images took up the majority of the space, and I decided not to add the extra bulk to the album.
Don’t forget Lori has a sale going on today, which makes this the perfect time to stock up on project files, like the 4×4 Accordion Pocket Mini-Album. It’s a perfect gift for Dad or Grandpa. Plus you can grab the freebie while you are there and make Dad a t-shirt, card, or other little gift to go along with his mini-album!

Until next time,
Michelle
