Hi there, it’s Michelle, aka the Bookish Designer. I am super excited to be Blog Hopping with the ladies from Lori Whitlock’s Creative Team. This is the last stop on the blog hop today, so be sure to check out all the team projects if you haven’t already. If you think you may have missed one, you can head back to the beginning at Lori’s blog.
For this month’s blog hop, I made a mason jar goodie box and fall card for a friend at work. I made my version of the Mason Jar Box Fall Day (SVG, Silhouette) and the A2 Cutout Card Maple Leaf (SVG, Silhouette). Both the mason jar and the card were made using leftover paper and stickers from previous projects.
I made a few changes to the Mason Jar Box Fall Day file. The biggest adjustment was to the size of the box. The mason jar boxes are designed to hold a couple of pieces of candy. However, I wanted to pack a little more into the box, so I enlarged the file size to make the jar about 4″ tall. The other change I made was to use patterned paper in place of the design included in the file. This made it a little quicker and easier to put the jar together. I’m a lazy crafter:)
For the card, I replaced the sentiment with leftover stickers from a previous project. I also used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks to add some extra dimension to the card. I used Aged Mahogany for the edges and Scattered Straw on the rest of the card.
Don’t forget Lori has a sale going on today. That makes this the perfect time to stock up on fall project files, like the Mason Jar Box Fall Day (SVG, Silhouette) and the A2 Cutout Card Maple Leaf (SVG, Silhouette). Plus, you can grab the freebie while you are there!
